I know you have bad days. I have them myself. Those days when no matter what you do, you can’t get out of the “funk” that you have fallen into. When all the techniques and tools you know don’t inspire you and pull you out of depression or despair.

Why do we have these bad days?

Before you think that the steps you have taken toward changing your life are not working, let’s look a little deeper. (I’m assuming that you’re already on a path of self growth and working on changing your existing mindset.) When you consciously decide you want to change the direction of your life, you stir up your resistance to change. This part of you wants everything to stay the same. Sameness is predictable and safe.

The bad days we have are a direct result of our attempts to change. Our attempts to live a life of more awareness, a life of joy, prosperity and abundance.

What to do about these bad days?
I know I’d rather not ever have them. I’d rather always be happy and moving forward everyday of my life, but that is not natural in this human condition. What you do, is realize that your attempts to change are working or your resistance to change wouldn’t be up in arms. Be kind to yourself. Don’t beat yourself up or tell yourself that all the work you have been doing is for nothing.

Be aware of how you are feeling and the next time you have a bad day you will recognize the resistance to change in action, throwing up all kinds of negativity. Then you can rejoice, if your “funk” isn’t too deep, and realize you are very close to a breakthrough.

You know that old saying about it being darkest before the dawn
, well, that is exactly what is happening. You are just about to overcome a significant obstacle to change. That is the reason your resistance to change is doing everything in its power to get you to stop whatever it is that you are doing.

Now, if you haven’t been working on self growth and really have no idea about what I have been talking about, but your curiosity got you this far, your bad day is probably just, hormones.

To your continued self growth and discovery,
