Upgrading Your Life…
Have you ever consciously considered upgrading your life?
I don’t know if you use software in your life. I mean other than the software you get with your computer. What I’m talking about is the kind of software that runs this blog.
The creators of this very useful program are continually upgrading and improving the software that makes blogging a joyful experience for us all.
If you are willing to do the same with your life, before too long, you could look back over where you had been and be amazed at the improvements you’ve made.
It is possible to get stuck in your current attitudes, opinions and beliefs and think, “This is who I am and I’m not changing.” That’s all well and good until something happens to force you to change. Say someone finds a crack in your armor, an error in your programing, and creates a situation in which you are forced to change. For most people, this is the only way they ever change their life and it tends to be quite painful.
Wouldn’t it be easier to “look in the mirror” and recognize your own flaws? It is more pleasant to say, “I recognize this about myself and I’m going to find a way to fix it”, than to have someone point out your weakness, possible in a horribly public way.
That, I believe, is what, in part, motivates the creators of this blog software. It is far easier for them to find and fix bugs, than to have to develop a fix because someone has created problem for the whole system due to a flaw they may have missed. Do they say, “This is the way the software is and we aren’t going to change it.”? No, they are constantly looking for a way to be better, greater, the best at what they do.
Don’t you want to be a better, greater, best you can be, you?
Another reason for updating your life could be that you just want to be more functional.
As humans we can get by with wherever we are. In fact it is astonishing the amount of pain and suffering we have the ability to handle. But the simple fact is that we have choices. It may not seem like it at times, but we do! We create our lives by the choices we make.
So you can choose to upgrade your life or you can limp by on old software and hope no one is watching or worse, looking to find your weaknesses to exploit them.
How do you upgrade your life? Not too long ago a similar question was asked. It was “How do I change?” It was and remains a very good question and Bob answered it with some very specific steps… Seven to be exact. Rather than go over them again, here is a link to that post…
When the developers of this blog software make available the most recent version, it doesn’t take all that long to upgrade. You carefully follow all the instructions and in short order, wahlah, you are up to date with the latest, safest, most stable version possible.
Upgrading your life takes more time. You have to do the work that those designers and programmers have done for you in this example of a software upgrade. But there is good news… you don’t have to do it alone. There are others that have gone before you and have made the mistakes and figured out the fastest way to get to a new you. Bob and I are two of those people and our online “Essentials” course at IntentionalProsperity.com along with personal one-on-one Life Coaching phone sessions can take the trial and error out of upgrading your life.
