Can You Justify Your Joy?

In a world where millions suffer and starve, how can you justify your own joy?

All you have to do is look around and you see extremes. Extreme poverty and extreme prosperity exist in the same geographic locations…Probably in your town. This is the way things are in the human state of consciousness.

If so many have so little, how can you possibly embrace pursuing your own prosperity and abundance?

I believe that your personal enlightenment brings with it a responsibility. The responsibility is to live your life to the very best you possibly can. By doing so, your example and the example of others, will provide proof that a quantifiable, teachable alternative to a life of poverty is possible.

Individuals who are able to overcome the influence of their parenting and environments will provide proof that it is possible, within the human experience, to not be forced into a life of suffering and poverty.

Your personal success is a beacon of hope for many who want to believe a life of joy and fulfillment is possible… No matter how different their day-to-day reality may be, most people hope for a better life.

You see, taking back control of your life and your destiny is not something you are only doing for yourself. You are doing it for those individuals who will be touched by your example and inspired to find a greater joy and prosperity in their own lives. The ability to inspire others to the greater realization of their innate potential, is the greatest contribution you can give to mankind.

Bringing the light of hope and the realization of what is possible to others is how you show gratitude for being given the opportunity to realize the greater truth of life’s unlimited potential.

It’s how you honor the experience of life.

When Your Journey Begins

For a long time I labored under the illusion that “things” would start happening in my life when I achieved certain goals and dreams.

Because of this I would place blinders over my eyes and stay focused only on what I thought was the next thing I had to do.

Big mistake!

What I failed to understand is that the journey was the process which made “my life happen”. It wasn’t some place I was trying to get to. In fact, what I learned (the hard way) was when I was only focused on achieving a certain thing or experience, it became the “long way” to get there. When I got there it wasn’t at all what I had hoped it would be. In fact it was usually disappointing… there was little joy and fulfillment at the end of the journey.

Why?

The left brain analytical part of your mind wants to “see” things as straight lines. It will justify focusing only on the accomplishment of a specific goal. The problem is that life does not happen in straight lines. Your experience of life is a series of steps which at times may not seem to be related to each other. It is only when you have reached the “place” you intended, that you are able to connect the dots and see how the unrelated series of events were, in fact, necessary and absolutely essential.

The point I’m trying to make here is that you miss the full experience and fulfillment that the journey from “where you are to where you want to be”, provides you, if the only thing you focus on is “where you want to be”.

Focusing only on the end game is inefficient and time wasting!

This flies in the face of just about everybody who talks about setting goals. Hey, we even talk about setting goals in our Intentional Prosperity™ System Life Coaching Program… The important difference is that we define a “goal” as a holistic endeavor which includes the totality of your day-to-day life experience.

In order to get to “where you want to be” in life, you must simultaneously create an inner and outer foundation which will support your new reality. You can’t do that by only focusing on your goals.

Why?

You’ll end up arriving at your desired destination without the ability to stay there!
It comes down to this: You can use the left-brain analytical part of your mind to establish goals… but if you fail to bring your imagination, emotions and body (outer reality) along with it, you haven’t created the foundation necessary to support your new reality…

The big secret: How you get there is the joy and fulfillment part of the journey “from where you are to where you want to be”.

Any Means Necessary

The end never justifies the means.

Are you prepared to do something bad in order to create a situation that will result in something “good”?

There are a number of people who will use whatever means is at their disposal to deceive, manipulate and twist the truth with the justification that they are pursuing a higher “good”… and that “good” somehow grants them dispensation from personal responsibility…

Yes folks, it’s election time again!

I’ve stated this before in other blog postings: When you take action from the most honest place in yourself and your desire is “good” for yourself and others but your decisions are based upon faulty information, the situation will work itself out in a manner that allows you to correct your mistakes and still achieve what you desire.

On the other hand, if you knowingly deceive, manipulate and twist the truth and you justify this because your desire is “good” for yourself and others… you will never achieve your desired outcome.

There is a big difference between an honest mistake and a calculated deception.

No amount of rationale or bending of the truth will ever equal “good”. The outcome of any situation no matter how noble, will never justify “by any means necessary”.

Any means necessary always results in unexpected consequences.

The Shortest – Longest Line

How many times have you gotten in what appears to be the shortest line at the checkout of your local grocery store, only to watch all the lines around you move at a much quicker pace? It can happen at any store where you have to get in line to pay for your items.

There are situations that turn that shortest appearing line into one that will take longer than any other line in the store. For instance, the person directly in front of you has some trouble paying or decides they don’t want an item that has already been rung up. Or the register tape runs out and the clerk messes up putting in a new one because “there are people waiting” and the stress makes her fumble. There are never ending possibilities of potential delays and there you are standing in the shortest line that has become the longest in terms of getting out of the store. You do know what I’m talking about, don’t you?

You may say, “Sure that’s happened to me, but what does it have to do with Life Coaching or Intentional Prosperity?”

My answer… Things aren’t always what they appear and the way that your prosperity and abundance manifests isn’t always in the manner you would expect. Sometimes the wait is for your growth or for your safety.

For example, you’re in a hurry and you want to just get in and out of the store and back on the road to wherever you were headed. You stand there in the shortest-longest line fuming, but on the way to your destination, you notice there was a accident. Had you been in the shortest-fastest line you would have been right on time for a collision with an unpleasant or possibly even worse event. Sure, this is an extreme example, but it does happen.

What I’m saying, as a Life Coach, is that sometimes there is a very good reason for things not working the way you would like them to at a certain moment.
The best thing to do when it appears that things are not going your way, is to relax. Yes, Relax! Accept that the situation you are in will resolve in the amount of time it needs to and the result will be in your best interests. Yes, sometimes you have to be patient. But remember everything always works out for the best when you are self-aware and growing.

Of course next time you could try the longest line and see what lessons you learn from standing in that one.

To your personal growth and dreams,

A Short Guide to Introspection

If you’ve read any of the blogs I’ve posted, you know I recommend introspection.

What is introspection?
It is the action of looking at your own mental and emotional process. You could also call it soul-searching, contemplation, meditation or reflection. Back in the Sixties (I believe) it was called “naval-gazing”.

Why would you want to spend time examining your mental and emotional process? For what reason or reasons would you want to “get into your own head” or “gaze at your navel”? Why would Socrates say, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”

Because without introspection you have no way of really knowing yourself and what it is that motivates you. You would have no idea, why your life is the way it is. How many times have you asked yourself, “Why?” when things were not going your way… Or when something happens, that on the surface seems to have no meaning, no reason.

It is the absolute truth, that what you believe at the core of your being is what creates the life you live. If you are unable to examine your thought process and get to what you truly believe, then you won’t be able to change the direction of your life.

Now, if you are perfectly happy with your life and your place in it… One, I’m very surprised you are even reading this and Two, you are probably better off never looking to see what makes you tick. The only reason you would ever have to “get into your head” is when your life blows up in your face. Maybe it never will, but you are here living on this planet so chances are there will be an opportunity for you to stretch your horizons.

We’ve covered: What is Introspection, Why you would want to do it, and now let’s get to the How…

Take some time to ask yourself questions. Questions like: “Am I happy? Am I doing what I want to do with my life? Is something missing? Am I making a difference? Would I be missed if I was gone? Why am I dissatisfied?” Then the key component… You need to listen for the answers! Too many ask the questions but never stick around to hear what the inner voice has to say. This is guaranteed to cause you trouble down the line.

So ask the questions, wait and listen for the answers and determine what action to take as a result of the answers you receive. It doesn’t sound so difficult. But if you, like many others are having trouble with this simple recipe, then hiring a life coach could greatly benefit you. Like medicine, introspection can be healing in small doses but too much can have unpleasant side affects. A life coach can help you determine the right amount for you. If your experience with your own soul-searching has you feeling stuck or you are overwhelmed with the amount of information and not sure what action to take then it’s time to consider outside help in the form of a life coach.
