When was the last time you looked up?

When was the last time you found yourself out of ideas, out of enthusiasm and out of energy?

It’s like you look up from what you’re doing and realize you’re not doing anything of any real value. You’re just putting in time. The clock is ticking away and you’re in the very same place you were five years ago… Which means you just lost five years you’re never going to replace.

Absolutely nothing holds your attention for too long, because in this moment of clarity you realize that everything you’ve been doing is just some kind of mind game you play with yourself. All of your attitudes, opinions and beliefs just so many rules you set-up to play the game with… and the game has no more surprises. You’ve used up all the “discovery” process that was alloted to you.

You’ve become disconnected from your purpose.

Maybe the point of your life has yet to be realized. Maybe what you’ve been doing is living someone else’s life!… and you suddenly realize it’s a really boring life.

This is the crossroads…

You can just look down again and continue in the predictable life you’ve laid out for yourself. You may look up again five years from now for a few minutes, get ahold of yourself and look back down and resume. After all, isn’t that what you’ve done all along? Push it all back down whenever the fear of seeing clearly what you’ve done with your life enters your tightly controlled area of personal awareness. A life lived putting in time.

Do something different!

Otherwise your life is already over and in a few minutes your life is going to pass in front of you… and one day, as the nurse puts another spoonful of tomato soup into your mouth, you’re going to flashback on this thing you read years ago where somebody tried to warn you… Then you’ll forget.

Pass it along. It may save someone’s life.
