Relationships and Marriage
This post begins a new series from the Intentional Prosperity™ philosophy… relationships and marriage.
For many years we have been assisting others in their creative and life challenges. During that time there has been a reoccurring theme. Everyone wants true love. Everyone has trouble with finding it.
It is evident by the rate of divorce in our country that, those who are getting married aren’t able to keep it together. Over half of new marriages end in divorce. That is a very sad figure.
It seems apparent that they haven’t asked each other or themselves the right questions, during their relationship, before they decided to get married. That they were in such a rush to tie the knot, that they didn’t even consider a very important part of what marriage is all about… “Do I want to spend the rest of my life with this person?”
If most newlyweds are going into a marriage without considering all the ramifications, it’s no wonder there is so much divorce. It’s like the words, “in sickness and in health, till death do us part,” have no meaning whatsoever anymore.
Perhaps the biggest problem is the misconception that once you get married everything will work out. That any challenges or issues, a couple is facing, are going to magically disappear or be resolved with the “I do’s”. They don’t!
Marriage is a very serious commitment and to be taken lightly, as something that can be thrown away when it doesn’t fit anymore, is not only irresponsible but an incredible waste of time, energy, emotion and resources.
What are the most important things to consider before you even get involved?
One, knowing what you really want going into the relationship.
Two, knowing the questions to ask your potential mate to see if they’re a good fit.
Knowing yourself and answering these questions gives you a much more stable foundation to build a marriage on.
Check back for more posts on relationships and marriage. We will be bringing you more valuable information on this very important subject.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones,
