Treading Water
Why is it many well-read seekers of truth spend more time treading water than reflecting their evolving consciousness within their day-to-day lives?
You see it all the time. People who can quote chapter and verse. Cite arcane authors and books that expand upon miniscule segments of the big picture. A lengthly conversation with such a person always reveals one unavoidable truth:
You can get lost searching through the speculation and minutiae regarding how life works with one ultimate result: The more answers you find the more questions you have. Nothing gets resolved, no foundation is built, no stand is taken.
You never get to the place of “knowing”, being and doing…
You find yourself always comparing your current understanding with those who you perceive as the credible authorities on the subject. In other words, you never get to the point of trusting yourself. Afraid to commit to what you already know. Instead you choose to replay a repeating “loop”. Looking for the next bit of information…never quite getting to what I call the “personal unified field theory”.
Your own working personal philosophy and belief system. A system of ideas you apply to your day-to-day life. A formula that will take you from where you are now to where you want to be in your life. A practical working philosophy that is based upon your experience, reinforced by your day-to-day reality and gives you the power and freedom to “expect and know” (intend) what your future will be.
When do you stop being the perennial student and become the practitioner?
When you accept the validity of what you already know and begin to practice what you preach!
Obviously having a system of understanding which provides you with the tools necessary to fully embrace and engage your potential will hasten your ability to live life on your own terms. I would argue that the “bits and pieces” approach to expanding your consciousness does little more than give your intellect more fuel for the “angst engine”.
You need a formula.
A formula you learn that can be applied to achieving any outcome. An outcome which reflects the intent of what you desire. An efficient process that brings into balance your imagination, emotion, mind and body system and gives you the responsibility to choose how you are going to use your imagination to write the next great chapter of your life…
