		<description>Wow, Bob, those are some strong words.  

I think a lot of people want to believe they're coming from a place of honesty.  Maybe it's the most honest they can be and, in the moment, their intent is pure.  

It's as you say, when they remove themselves, from the sphere of an honest person with good intent, that their true nature comes back.

That's why they say what they think the person they're committing to wants to hear.  They want to believe they can be the person they see reflected in the eyes of a person who is non-judgmental  and coming from pure intent.

Unfortunately, it takes work to become that person and most are unwilling to step up and follow through.
