Now Comes Reality…
My last blog posting had to do with “fantasy” vs. working toward a dream.
Today I just got off the phone with someone who’s gone beyond the fantasy stage and is working on the dream…
What a nice uplifting experience!
No games, no attitude - just a desire to follow their passion. In this case a husband and wife team. He is a musician from Brazil - she is his wife, partner and fellow traveler.
What was cool was she brought a common sense perspective - he brought passion, desire and commitment. And one more thing - they both shared a clear goal. They sought me out for guidance on how to reach that goal.
This is always a joyous kind of experience for me.
You know you’re saving someone years of trial and error with your experience and what you can show them. They bring a passion about their dream that is infectious and inspiring.
It’s a win-win situation.
Mentoring someone - becoming a part of their “master-mind alliance” is a blast!
Especially, when that person is honest and open - no pretense - about what they want to achieve in life. From my perspective it means I’m going to be able to quickly get to the “core” of the situation and help them understand what their options are and what the potential ramifications of those options will be. So they can make informed decisions.
As far as I’m concerned it’s a privilege to become a part of passionate individual’s support system…
It reinforces my core belief that anything is possible.
And the only thing that keeps you from living the life of your dreams - is the myriad of rationalized excuses you’ve created to justify staying exactly where you are.
The important thing to remember is that genuine passion acts as a very powerful beacon which will - if you choose to follow it - illuminate a pathway around those self-defeating attitudes, opinions and beliefs.
Thing is, at some point you have to commit yourself to your dream and take action - or your excuses will eventually douse the light.
